Short answer
Send us the page address, the statement you think is wrong, and a source if you have one. We review every report. When we verify an error, we fix it within 5 business days, update the page's last-reviewed date, and record the change in the log on this page, including what changed and when.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] and include:
- The page address (the URL).
- The exact statement you believe is wrong.
- Why, and a source if you have one: a manufacturer document, a code section, a statute, a utility or city page.
Reports from homeowners, plumbers, manufacturers, inspectors and utilities are all welcome. You do not need to be an expert, and you do not need a source to report something that looks off.
What we check
We go back to the primary source behind the statement, and to any source you sent. We check:
- Whether the source says what we said it says.
- Whether the source is current (rebates, laws, codes and prices change).
- Whether a more authoritative source contradicts it.
What happens next
| Outcome | What we do |
|---|---|
| Verified error | Fix it within 5 business days, update the page's last-reviewed date, and log the change below |
| Outdated but was correct | Update it, note what changed, and log it |
| Safety-related error | Fix it first, as fast as we can, then log it |
| Not an error | Keep the page as is; if the wording caused confusion, we may clarify it |
| Cannot verify either way | Soften or remove the claim until it can be sourced |
If you gave us a way to reach you, we will tell you the outcome.
What counts as a correction
A correction is any change to a fact, number, date, source, legal statement, safety instruction or recommendation. Fixing a typo or a broken link is not logged as a correction, though we fix those too.

Corrections are listed here newest first, with the date, the page, what was wrong and what it says now.
